The second edition of "Life of women and men in Europe - a statistical portrait" has been issued by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European communities, with the support of European Commission DG Employment (Unit Equality between Men-Women). The publication describes the situation of women and men at different stages of their lives.

This report provides a general review of statistics on gender-related issues by way of comparisons, showing for instance the situation of each sex in terms of income and influence.

The publication is in English but will be available in French and German in the following months.
